CURL in the Press
COFI/POWER-PAC ILLINOIS
Our community partner Community Organizing Family Issues (COFI) recently shared with us an update on press coverage of their recently released policy report on the indebtedness of poor families, primarily headed by women. The survey which informed the report was conducted by the parents, primarily in Chicago, but also in Kane country and East St Louis. In partnership with the Chicago Foundation for Women, CURL has worked with COFI parents to assist them in their research into the impact of debt in the lives of their neighbors living in poverty here in IL. Parent leaders conducted over 300 parent-to-parent surveys about debt.
