Father Harmon earned his Master of Fine Arts from the New York Academy of Art in 2023 focusing on painting. His work explores the crossroads between art, literature, philosophy and theology — The Catholic Imagination. Trees have stood throughout the ages of human history as witnesses to our triumphs and tragedies, and provide a sense of continuity and stability in an ever-shifting world. The tree as a symbol embodies the antithesis of an over digitized and disconnected world. Father Harmon’s research looks at the usage of story and myth, and trees within them, as a vehicle to find that which connects people together through the visual language of portraiture.
