Exhibition Opportunities
Student Juried Exhibition
All Fine Arts students are invited to submit work to the annual Juried Student Exhibition including drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, graphic design, ceramics, sculpture, and any combination thereof. All entries must be original works and have been completed in the last year. Works will be exhibited in the Ralph Arnold Gallery.

- Selection Process: This exhibition will be juried from uploaded images. Students may enter up to three works for consideration, and a separate form should be filled out for each piece of work. Late submissions will not be considered.
- Media and Specifications: Open to visual art media including: drawing, painting, photography, color theory, two and three-dimensional design, ceramics, sculpture, and any combination thereof. Maximum weight of artwork for physical exhibition should not exceed 50lbs. No work for physical exhibition must exceed six feet in its principle dimension and must fit through a standard door.
- Presentation of Accepted Artwork: Each piece accepted into the show should be wrapped and labeled with student's name, title of piece, and medium on the back of the artwork. While the gallery has the ability to hang most of the artwork and can provide pedestals, shelves, etc., student must include any special installation instructions and uncommon hardware, such as special pins or hanging devices. The Gallery Directors and Jurors retain the right to exclude work not professionally presented or not conforming to the prospectus guidelines.
- Liability: All reasonable effort and care will be given for the works while in the care of the Ralph Arnold Annex. Limited insurance for the replacement of materials is provided in the event of loss or damage of works while on display in the Ralph Arnold Annex.
- Sales and Reproduction: No commission is charged for the sale of work. Any inquiries will be directed to the artist. Entrants agree to allow accepted work to be reproduced as necessary for publication/promotion purposes.
- Eligibility: Open to all currently enrolled Loyola University Chicago students. All works must be original and completed within the last year. Works submitted could be made within a class or independently.
Juror: Sam Jaffe
Sam Jaffe is an artist currently living and working in Chicago, IL. Characterized by wacky, toxic color and overstuffed, mutated forms, her recent work explores labor, folk and domestic art traditions, ornamentation, collecting behaviors, craftsmanship, and the grotesque fallibility of the human body. All art materials are recycled, reused, repurposed, dead-stock, vintage, or otherwise sustainably sourced. Sam received her BFA from The Rhode Island School of Design in 2005 and her MFA from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago in 2009. She is represented by 65GRAND in Chicago and is an Associate Professor, Adj. in The Department of Painting and Drawing at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. Sam is also a Director of ADDS DONNA, an artist-run collective and exhibition space in Chicago.
