Invitation to Judge The University of Chicago Mock Trial Team's Tournament as a Pro Bono Opportunity
From January 24th to the 26th in Downtown Chicago, we will be hosting our eleventh annual Great Chicago Fire Invitational (GCFI), one of the most competitive invitational intercollegiate mock trial tournaments in the country, which brings together top mock trial programs representing schools such as UChicago, Northwestern University, and Yale.
With teams from at least fourteen different states and two home city Chicago programs, GCFI brings together a diverse and passionate community of students, not to mention the best of the best at trying fake lawsuits!
The University of Chicago’s mock trial program competes through the American Mock Trial Association in a competitive activity where students are given a fictional set of facts and try the case as both attorneys and witnesses.
During GCFI, the twenty-four competing teams will be matched to try their cases four times in four rounds, and we want to invite students and faculty from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law to judge the competition as an official pro bono opportunity.
