Saleski, Alan

Associate Professor


Dr. Saleski received his B.S. in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his M.S. and Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley. Before studying at Berkeley, he spent one year at the Université de Nantes, France, in a program sponsored by the Institute of European Studies. After serving for five years as an Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia, Dr. Saleski joined the Loyola faculty. Since coming to Loyola, Dr. Saleski has served as Assistant Dean of Mathematical and Natural Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences, Graduate Program Director of Computer Science, and Acting Chair of the department. He was twice chosen as Honors Teacher of the Year by the Honors Students Association. His research interests include ergodic theory, measure theory, probability theory, and computer algorithms; his results have appeared in the Pacific Journal of Mathematics, the Journal of Math Analysis and ApplicationsAdvances in MathematicsMath Systems Theory, and Zeit. fur Wahrscheinlickeitstheorie. Currently Dr. Saleski is the Undergraduate Program Director.
