ARABIC الخَطّ العَرَبيّ CALLIGRAPHY

We are thankful to our kind professional calligraphist and musician Mr. Majed Abu Ajameyeh for his theoretical/historical orientation on diverse calligraphy styles, now and then, and the arithmetic nexus and interplay among arts and sciences in the Arab/ Islamic world (STEAM). At such universally perplexed socio-political times, our event also hoped to shed light on inclusive sublime cross- cultural adaptations of calligraphy, interdisciplinary religious depictions of calligraphy in portraits (e.g, Mary, the mother of Jesus, in Eastern Contexts), and the awe-inspiring critical thinking involved in its legacy. It has been also vitally significant to introduce women’s contribution to the art across historical contexts.
