About

Colleen Kordish has 20 years of experience in the field of cardiology. This includes cardiac surgery, cardiac critical care, interventional cardiology, and electrophysiology. After leaving bedside care, she embarked on a quality journey for her organization’s cardiac service line developing the following personal skill sets: project management, outcome management, data management, and community engagement. During this time period, the organization became a Magnet facility, achieved a top 50 cardiac hospital award, and received the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award using a cardiac quality project as its exemplar. Dr. Kordish received an honorable mention by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement for her work in the field of quality.

Dr. Kordish is a published author and a noted speaker, having presented her work at conferences and webinars. She has been a research coordinator and a primary investigator for multiple research projects. She received her BSN from East Carolina University, MSN in Education from University of Phoenix, a Measurement & Quantitative Methodology Certificate from Loyola University Chicago, and a Ph.D in Nursing from Loyola University Chicago. She holds certifications in Nursing Education and Project Management from the National League for Nursing and Project Management Institute respectively. Dr. Kordish is a member of Sigma Theta Tau – the honor society of nursing and Alpha Sigma Nu – the honor society of Jesuit universities. Her dissertation was entitled “The effect of social support on health and quality of life for women with type 2 diabetes and depression” and was one of the first healthcare related projects to use the statistical method of Necessary Condition Analysis.

Research Interests

Dr. Kordish teaches courses in the Healthcare Administration tract at the MNSON.  Her research interests are healthcare delivery science, quality improvement, and necessary condition analysis.
