Opportunities for Faculty and Graduate Students

Listed are many of the most common federal and state agencies and private foundations/corporations that typically fund research and scholarly activities.

NOTE: Applicants for internal funding may make use of resources available here, including grant writing assistance, statistical consultation, and (when the research is computationally intensive) the Research Data Center.

Federal

All federal funding opportunities can be found on Grants.gov. Go to the site to search for funding by keyword or to browse opportunities by agency or category.

 

Prive Foundations/Corporations

Note: Certain private foundations are "restricted" (e.g., will only make one award per year per institution) and so all proposals to foundations will be coordinated with the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations by the Office of Research Services.

Grants Administered through the Office of Research Services

Funds are available to help Lakeside Loyola researchers and scholars, as described below. The main priority of all internal funding programs administered by the Office of Research Services is to increase the capacity of Loyola faculty to secure external funding for their research and/or other scholarly activities. All applications for internal funds must be submitted through the Internal Proposal Review System (IPRS).  

All Lakeside faculty (tenure, tenure track, and non-tenure track) are eligible to apply for the grants below.

  1. Research Support Grants: All full-time faculty of Loyola University Chicago – Lakeside campuses are eligible to apply for support of research to strengthen external grant proposals. Research Support Grant Guidelines
