Quinlan teams win big across disciplines

Two teams brought home top honors from the Teradata Universe competition in 2020.

Quinlan students across business disciplines are bringing home top honors and awards from student competitions.

Honors during the 2020-21 academic year include:

Two Top Honors at Teradata Universe Conference

Information systems students won across both student challenges at the international data analytics conference, bringing home top honors from the conference for the sixth year in a row.

The 2020 Student Data Challenge team took home the top award, Most Value to the Client. Team members were Tamera Cawelle, Molly Herdlick, Ines Gonzalez Di Martino, and Shona Sunil.

The 2020 Student Analytics Challenge team won the People’s Choice award. The team members were Zachary Clark, Laura Cuevas, Michael Esson, Aidan Gregory, and Hannah Niehoff. Both teams were advised by professors Svetlozar Nestorov, Dinko Bačić, and Nenad Jukić.

First Place at Deloitte National Audit Innovation Campus Challenge

The team from Loyola University Chicago took first in the Deloitte National Audit Innovation Campus Challenge. They pulled ahead of twelve teams in the national championship, selected from 52 total that competed in the challenge. 

Hosted by Deloitte’s Audit Innovation group and the Deloitte Foundation, the Audit Innovation Campus Challenge (AICC) is a nationwide program which accelerates innovation in education by helping institutions of higher learning keep pace with the rapidly changing marketplace and evolving technologies impacting the audit profession.

Congratulations to students Julian Jaramillo, Jawwad Khan, Sebastian Nunez, and Catie Plank, who represent Quinlan and Arrupe College of Loyola University Chicago. The team was advised by Prof. Peter Kolos, Prof. Susan McCarthy, and Deloitte's Rich Gevis.

Finalists at Salesforce Career Journey Case Competition

Salesforce Career Journey. co-sponsored by Deloitte gave students the opportunity to orient themselves with the Salesforce ecosystem. Each competition team was joined by a Deloitte mentor. A team of four Loyola undergraduate students advanced to the finals of the competition.
