About

Faruk Guder is a Professor of Supply Chain Management at the Quinlan School of Business. Dr. Guder completed his Ph.D. in Operations Management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; he also holds an MBA degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a B.A. degree in Operations Management from Aegean (Ege) University in Izmir, Turkey. Dr. Guder previously served as Associate Dean at the Quinlan School of Business 2006-2016. He has also served as the Chairperson of the Information Systems and Supply Chain Management Department.

Dr. Guder teaches courses in business analytics, principle of analytic programming, and business statistics in graduate, executive degree (EMBA and MBA-HCM), and undergraduate programs. Dr. Guder was named Quinlan’s Outstanding Graduate Teacher of the Year in 2017 and in 1999, Quinlan’s Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher of the Year in 2006-2007, and Quinlan’s Outstanding MBA-Healthcare Management Teacher of the Year in 2007-2008. Dr. Guder also received the Dean’s Faculty Service Award in 2016.

His research interests include teaching evaluations, business analytics, and inventory problems. He has published papers in various journals including Operations Research, Math Programming and The Journal of Operational Research.
