About

Yoo Na Youm is an assistant professor in the Department of Management at Loyola University Chicago's Quinlan School of Business. Dr. Youm’s research focuses on firm-stakeholder engagement and its economic and social impact. Particularly, her research examines how firm-stakeholder engagement is manifested in corporate activities and organizational forms as engagement methods and external environments continue to evolve. Through her research, Dr. Youm explores how firms can effectively and ethically engage with their stakeholders in ways to make positive contributions to the society.

In her current projects, Dr. Youm investigates the antecedents and consequences of firm-stakeholder engagement, such as how the effectiveness of firm-stakeholder engagement changes during a societal crisis. Dr. Youm’s work has been published in leading academic journals including Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, and Business & Society. Also, Dr. Youm has received the 2022 Award for Excellent Research from the Center for Social Value Enhancement Studies (CSES).

At Quinlan, Dr. Youm teaches the undergraduate capstone course Strategic Management and currently serves as the Management department representative for the Curriculum Committee. She is also active in the Academy of Management (AOM), serving on the Membership & Nominations Committee for the Organizations and the Natural Environment (ONE) Division during 2019-2022. Dr. Youm received her PhD from the George Washington University School of Business.
