Al Gini
Professor Emeritus, Business Ethics
Al Gini retired as Professor of Business Ethics in the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago. He is the co-founder and long-time Associate Editor of Business Ethics Quarterly, the journal of the Society for Business Ethics.
For over 27 years he was the Resident Philosopher on National Public Radio’s Chicago affiliate, WBEZ-FM, and can currently be heard on WGN/Tribune Radio. He also regularly lectures to community and professional organizations on cultural issues, business and ethics.
His books include: My Job My Self: Work and the Creation of the Modern Individual; The Importance of Being Lazy: In Praise of Play, Leisure and Vacations; Why It’s Hard to Be Good; Seeking The Truth of Things; The Ethics of Business with Alexei Marcoux; 10 Virtues of Outstanding Leaders with Ronald M. Green; and, The Importance of Being Funny: Why We Need More Jokes In Our Lives.
Research Interests
Professor Gini is the co-founder and former associate editor of Business Ethics Quarterly, the Journal of the Society for Business Ethics.
Professional/Community Affiliations
Besides lecturing to community and professional organizations, he does consulting on corporate ethics, and he can be regularly heard on National Public Radio's Chicago affiliate, WBEZ-FM.
