Registration and Records, Department of
Office of Registration and Records
For the Record
We provide academic and enrollment services for faculty and students including: scheduling, registration, recordkeeping and reporting. We also assist employers seeking degree verification and alumni who request copies of their transcripts.
The Office of Registration and Records exists to serve the needs of the students, to respond to requests of the faculty and administration for data, and to safeguard the integrity of the students' education record. The office also serves external audiences such as employers seeking degree verification and alumni who request copies of their transcripts, degree verifications, and course descriptions.
Loyola University Chicago's Office of Registration and Records is an active participant member of the Conference of Registrars in Jesuit Institutions (CORe). CORe was established in 1980 to promote best practices within the registrar's profession and especially within the realm of Jesuit higher education. Our annual conferences are reflective of the 1969 Jesuit Educational Association's affirmation of the "cura personalis" and empower us to affirm that "the fullest development of the student's (we would add faculty's and staff's) personhood would be the entire college's enterprise."
Additionally, Loyola University Chicago is a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). The Office of Registration of Records has adopted the best practices of member post-secondary educational institutions. Guided by FERPA (Family Education Rights and Privacy Act) The Office of Registration and Records affirms its essential obligation to the management and security of Loyola University Chicago student education records and adheres to the records retention policies set forth by AACRAO in Retention of Records, Guide for Retention and Disposal of Student Records (2010).
