A Genuine and Caring Approach

Originally based in California, Ellie pursued a JD program in her home state; however, family circumstances led her to Illinois, interrupting her legal education. In search of a way to continue her legal journey, she found Loyola University Chicago's program to be an ideal fit due to its strong reputation and ABA certification.

"I had no intention of leaving California, but family circumstances brought me back home and that interrupted my journey. But I was really enjoying it, so I thought, well, what can I do? You know I'm not gonna start over at law school. But what can I do that would continue to use my knowledge and get me working in the field. The Loyola program really stood out. I know they have a really good reputation. It definitely mattered that they're ABA certified. I know that's what employers want."

Despite the challenges of juggling familial responsibilities and caring for elderly parents, Ellie found the program to be exceptionally supportive. The faculty and staff at Loyola showed a genuine commitment to her success, even during personal hardships, allowing her to maintain her momentum in her studies. The flexibility of online learning, coupled with accessible instructors, made it possible for Ellie to navigate her unique circumstances.

During her time at Loyola, Ellie appreciated the high standards set by her professors, particularly in a legal research class. The program's emphasis on genuine learning and a rigorous approach left a lasting impression on her.

Following her graduation, Ellie's connections gained from the program led to her first experience as a paralegal intern, providing real-world experience before embarking on her job search. As an ambassador, Ellie aims to inspire and support fellow students by sharing her own journey.

"I really want people to believe in themselves and know that they can do this. If they need to do it a little more slowly depending on what's going on in their life, they can do that. The supports are there."
