About

Patty Lamberti joined the new School of Communication in Fall 2008 as Professional in Residence to teach journalism and new media.

Lamberti moved to Chicago from New York, where she was an online producer at mylifetime.com, assisting in the massive relaunch of the international women's website, which receives 4 million visitors per month.

Lamberti has a Master's degree in writing from University of Illinois, Chicago, and has taught numerous classes at UIC, as well as tutored students in their writing lab. She has also taught courses in non-fiction at the Gotham Writer's Workshop, New York. She holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she won the “Writer of Promise” award as an undergraduate.

Lamberti was the articles editor and New York-based Latina Media Ventures, helping to develop Web content and interactive tools for Latina's site, as well as overseeing the “lifestyle” section and staff. She was also an assistant editor and wrote articles on politics and fiction for Playboy magazine, where she worked with and interviewed authors such as Joyce Carol Oates and T.C. Boyle. Lamberti has written articles for the Chicago Tribune, the Rotarian, the New York Post, New York Metro as well as working on AOL websites.
