What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola? That’s an easy one: the people. I knew this would be my answer before I even started the job! I often forget that I started at Loyola remotely—my colleagues were so welcoming from the get go that I felt like a part of the team in no time.

What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee? I am grateful to have had the opportunity to offer communications support for several important initiatives and programs in my short time here, from Loyola’s COVID-19 response to Loyola Votes to Celebrating Black History. I think having been able to juggle many priorities at once this past year and build strong partnerships across the University along the way is an achievement I will always be proud of.

What does Loyola's mission mean to you? As a Jesuit university alumna, Loyola’s mission of “Preparing People to Lead Extraordinary Lives” certainly resonates with me. My Jesuit education, both inside and outside the classroom, certainly pushed me to want to go above and beyond what is expected, while also caring for others and myself. It is evident in all of interactions, whether with my colleagues or the students I am fortunate to get to work with in this role, that Loyolans are committed to carrying this mission out.

What motivates you to succeed each and every day? Am I allowed to say “the people” again? I know that when I succeed, my whole team succeeds. Their strategic thinking and desire to always put their best work forward—and I can’t leave out their sense of humor!—is inspiring. Knowing my work can have a direct impact on students is also something that motivates me.

Tell us how you show your Rambler pride: When I received my job offer at Loyola, both my husband and my close friend surprised me with some Rambler gear that I proudly sport around the city. Being a spokesperson for the University is another way I show my Rambler pride—I am very proud to represent a mission-driven institution like Loyola.

Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you: The Jesuit values run in my gene pool! My mother, uncle, and I all received our undergraduate degrees from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Since I could walk, a Creighton hoodie has always been a wardrobe staple.
