After a week of orientation, the Stritch Class of 2028 marked their first milestone: receiving their white coats. 170 physicians-in-training, along with their families, friends, and Stritch faculty and staff, gathered for this medical school rite of passage. The event marked the beginning of a challenging yet rewarding path for these M1s, selected from an applicant pool of more than 12,000 individuals.
Snapshot of Class Stats:
- Average GPA of 3.7
- Average MCAT score of 511
- 67% are female, 31% are male, and 2% identify as non-binary
- They represent 26 states and territories across the U.S. and 20 countries outside the U.S.
- 10% are first-generation college students
- Four students have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.
- They represent 31 races and ethnicities, reflecting rich experiences and perspectives that enhance the Stritch community and their future medical practice.
These physicians-in-training soon will learn what it means to be a “Stritch-educated physician” and will earn the trust and responsibility that these white coats symbolize.
