Ladder Safety

Ladders are great pieces of equipment. Nearly everyone has one at home or in the workplace. However, they pose a threat to an individual’s safety if not used correctly. Ladder safety is a crucial aspect of workplace safety. Whether an employee is using an extension ladder, stepladder, or portable ladder, understanding and following key safety rules and guidelines is essential to minimize risks and prevent accidents that may cause serious injury or death.

The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Safety and Health Regulations for Construction, Stairways and Ladders Standard, 29 CFR 1926.1053, provides regulations for ladder use by employees. These regulations play a key role in educating individuals on the correct way to use ladders.
