Stewardship Institute

Practical education for family business members

Generational succession in family businesses demands a unique understanding of how family and business dynamics intertwine, distinct from non-family enterprises. Lacking this insight can put the business legacy at risk.

The Stewardship Institute offers comprehensive education in family business best practices for family members interested in responsible stewardship—whether they're active in the business, married into the family, or next-generation owners not directly involved. Participants are welcome to join as individuals or with family members.

Our small cohorts foster an interactive, engaging environment, allowing ample time for questions and learning. Exclusively for family business members, the Institute brings together peers who understand the journey, providing lasting support and insights.

Program Benefits

No other program out there offers this level of family business education. Thought leaders, subject matter experts, and live case studies, along with confidential peer-to-peer learning, are all here to help you develop a set of tools and resources to foster responsible and effective stewardship.

Outside of meetings, you’re encouraged to take what you’ve learned back to your family business, see what impact it has, and report back to your peers on your challenges and successes.

But I already have an MBA...

Don’t get us wrong, MBAs are incredibly valuable. But what sets the Stewardship Institute apart from an MBA is the family business lens through which content is delivered. This perspective isn’t something you typically receive in standard academics.

For example, can you answer the following questions?

  1. What is the three circle model?
  2. What challenges do cousins face that are different from the challenges siblings confront in family business transitions?
  3. What are the three leading best practices for family businesses?

If you can answer these questions, then the Stewardship Institute probably isn’t for you. But if you cannot answer them and you’re passionate about being a responsible steward of your family business, we encourage you to enroll in this one-of-a-kind program!
