Telephones

The 64XX, 84XX and 96XX series telephones are multi-line digital voice phones equipped with a message light, volume control, and a number of convenient feature access buttons.

Features

  • Hold
    • To keep a call waiting, press “HOLD”, the green light will flash.
    • To return to the held call: Press the button for the line on which the held call is waiting; green light will flash
  • Transfer: To route a call to another extension
    • Press TRANSFER; current call is put on hold.
    • Dial number that call is to be transferred to. Remain on line if you wish to announce the transfer.
    • Press TRANSFER, the current call is put on hold
    • Dial number that call is to be transferred to. Remain on line if you wish to announce the transfer.
    • Press TRANSFER again. Call is sent to dialed number.
    • Hang up or press DROP
  • Last Number Dialed: to automatically redial the last number you dialed, inside or outside the University.
    • Press LAST NUMBER DIALED (LND) or
    • Dial #9. The number will be automatically dialed.
  • Speed Dialing: the speed dial feature provides access to pre-programmed telephone numbers that you call frequently.
    • To program or reprogram a speed dial button: Please note that this button must first be assigned by the system manager.
      • Press PROGRAM or dial *0.
      • Press the AD button to be programmed.
      • Dial the extension or outside number (for external numbers, include 9 to get an outside line and 1 for long distance numbers, then enter the 10 digit number)
      • Press the speed dial button to receive a confirmation tone.
    • To place a call using a speed dial button
      • Get dial tone and press the correct Abbreviated Dial (AD) button.
  • Call Forward / Follow Me: the Call Forward/Follow Me feature allows you to have your calls follow you to a specific extension on any campus, provided that the extension is not on call-forward or send-calls.
    • To activate call forwarding
      • Get dial tone
      • Press CALL FORWARD or dial *2
      • Dial the extension or number where calls will be sent. If you are forwarding to an off-campus location, be sure to enter the number just as you would dial it if you were making a regular call (i.e., include 9 and 1 plus the area code if applicable).
      • Hang up
      • You will hear a short ring at your phone each time a call placed to your extension is forwarded.
    • To cancel call forwarding
      • Get dial tone
      • Press Call Forward or dial #2

        For HSC requests, LUHS does not allow off campus call forwarding which includes phones in LUC buildings. Any questions contact LUC Service Desk ITSServiceDesk@luc.edu).
  • Send All Calls: the Send All Calls feature automatically routes incoming calls to the next point in your coverage path. Your coverage path is the pre-programmed route that your calls will take if your phone is busy or unattended.  If you need a coverage path, please contact the ITS Service Desk.
    • To activate send all calls
      • Press SEND ALL CALLS (SAC) or
      • Get dial tone and dial *3.
      • You will hear a partial ring as each call is sent to coverage. If your SEND ALL CALLS button has a lamp, it will light to remind you that Send All Calls is on.
    • To cancel send all calls
      • Press SEND ALL CALLS (SAC) or
      • Get dial tone and dial #3
