Patrick Brankin is a partner with Schain, Burney, Banks & Kenny, Ltd., where he practices in the areas of land use and zoning law, municipal law, liquor and business licensing and civil litigation.
As a litigator, he has represented plaintiffs and defendants in matters involving contracts, land use, foreclosure, landlord/tenant relations and torts. Mr. Brankin has appeared before numerous boards and commissions of municipalities and counties, as well as the Mayor's License Commission and the License Appeal Commission of the City of Chicago.
Serving as one of the Village Attorneys and as the Village Housing Court Prosecutor for the Village of Palatine, Mr. Brankin has successfully prosecuted hundreds of cases dealing with a broad range of land use, zoning and municipal code issues.
Mr. Brankin co-authored Chapter Nine of the 2004 Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education Land Use Law handbook entitled, "Litigation of a Zoning Case," and frequently gives presentations on land use and zoning issues.
