Sharmi Mahajan
About
Sharmi Mahajan teaches the Master of Jurisprudence Thesis course and the Introduction to Legal Systems and Writing classes for Loyola’s Online MJ program. She has experience in corporate healthcare compliance and regulation, HIPAA and state privacy laws, and Medicaid and Medicare billing. Mahajan has worked in healthcare compliance with a boutique consulting firm and in health care policy with the American College of Chest physicians. Her experience also includes employment and internships in Legal and Compliance Departments for small healthcare companies and hospitals. Mahajan began her career working in a national law firm.
Mahajan obtained her LLM in Health Law from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. As a Fellow with the Beazley Institute for Health Law and Policy, she researched Medicaid, Medicare, and other safety net financing strategies for hospitals. Mahajan completed her JD from the University of Toronto and her MPH from Yale University, where she concentrated her studies in Health Policy and Administration.
