About
In addition to teaching appellate legal writing and oral advocacy, Sarah North serves as Senior Litigation Counsel in the Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Illinois. She supervises and advises fellow Assistant United States Attorneys, as well as investigates and prosecutes affirmative civil matters, particularly health care and other financial fraud, and defends a wide variety of civil litigation against the United States, its agencies, and its officers. Before serving as an AUSA in Chicago, she was an AUSA for the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York, where she served in that office’s Civil Frauds Unit.
Prior to her federal service, Ms. North was an associate with Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason & Anello, P.C. and Paul Hastings LLP, both in New York. Before law school, she worked for ABC News Productions, making documentary programs that aired on A&E, the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, and Lifetime.
