About
Vincent Samar’s areas of specialization are philosophy of law, political philosophy, ethics, human rights philosophy, and international and constitutional law. Vince has authored two books, one The Right to Privacy: Gays, Lesbians and the Constitution; the other Justifying Judgment: Practicing Law and Philosophy, edited a third, on the Gay Rights Movement, and a chapter in Gewirthian Perspectives on Human Rights. He has also published more than 26 journal articles and four review articles covering a wide range of issues involving human rights, LGBT rights, the right to an abortion, and international and constitutional interpretation. And he has been a commentator on same-sex marriage and other matters with the media including the News Hour. Coming this February, Catholic University Law Review will be publishing an article of his entitled: At the Intersection of Due Process and Equal Protection: Expanding the Range of Protected Interests. He has also been a regular presenter at the Loyola Constitutional Law Colloquium held at our law school and served as a judge for the annual Jessup competition.
