About
Justin Ian Sia is the Marketing and Regulatory Senior Counsel at TransUnion and an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Justin also serves as an elected school board member on the Local School Council of Inter-American Magnet School, a Chicago Public School.
Prior to these roles, Justin was an Associate at Miner Barnhill & Galland, a national civil rights law firm, where he counseled non-profit entities on various compliance and transactional matters. Before joining Miner Barnhill, Justin was the Democracy, Voting Rights, & Redistricting Counsel at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago where he led and organized community members around creating Chicago’s first Asian American majority ward in Chinatown during the 2021-22 redistricting cycle. Justin began his legal career as a Corporate Associate at McDermott Will & Emery, an international large law firm, advising on matters ranging from mergers and acquisitions to corporate finance across industries such as healthcare and cannabis.
Justin is also a recognized LGBTQ+ rights leader, having drafted a groundbreaking state statute in 2019 and testified in front of lawmakers to allow for gender-inclusive restrooms across Illinois, which were previously banned.
