About

Professor John Tingle is a Distinguished Lecturer at Birmingham Law School, the University of Birmingham, England. He has held a number of senior positions in a variety of academic management areas. He has had roles in international development, international student recruitment and curriculum development. He was formerly Associate Professor at Nottingham Law School, Nottingham Trent University and prior to that worked in Further, Higher Education in London, Worcester and practiced as a Barrister.

His research focuses in health law field where he examines issues relating to clinical negligence litigation and patient safety. National and global patient safety policy development and UHC (Universal Health Coverage). He has a fortnightly column in the British Journal of Nursing. He is a frequent contributor to the Bill of Health published by the Petrie-Flom Center at Harvard Law School where he was a Visiting Scholar in November 2018. John is also a Visiting Professor of Law at Loyola University Chicago, School of Law and a Patient Safety Specialist to the ECRI Institute, USA.
