Classified Research
Loyola University Chicago is committed to the goal of contributing to the global knowledge base through research, and disseminating new findings in a timely fashion. It is expected that the results of research undertaken at the University will be made available to the general public through publications and other media.
Publication may be delayed by the University or the sponsor to take advantage of securing protection for patentable inventions, to take advantage of commercial opportunities for marketing or distribution of a product, or to give sponsors sufficient opportunity to review draft copies of publications to assure that proprietary information is adequately protected.
Faculty who want to undertake "classified" research or projects which do not permit publication of the results need the approval of the Associate Provost for Research.
