Update on the University Budget

The higher education landscape across the country is rapidly changing with many colleges and universities facing daunting budget shortfalls due to shrinking enrollments, rising costs, and historically high inflation. Unlike many other institutions, Loyola does not face a financial crisis and remains in a financially strong position, with the current fiscal year expected to generate a modest operating surplus. As the University assesses current operations, forecasts for the coming 2024 academic year, and begins to prepare for the FY25 operating budget planning process, senior leadership will proactively identify and remove $20 million, or 3 percent of the overall operating budget. Doing so will help Loyola remain financially strong in the coming years and allow us to invest in key academic growth areas and University-wide priorities.

Finance Forms Update

New Protected Location for Instructions and Forms Containing Sensitive Data

To reduce the risks of data loss, Loyola University Chicago will begin moving some of its documents and forms that deal with sensitive data to a more secure location. In the coming weeks, some of these forms on the HR and Finance webpages will be updated to require a Loyola login via UVID and password to access. This modification will ensure that only authorized personnel have access to the processes that specifically deal with sensitive information.
