Mission Statement

Purchasing is dedicated to providing the most effective and efficient procurement of goods and services while supporting the broader University goals. Purchasing strives to provide the highest level of customer support for internal stakeholders, as well conduct our sourcing activities with external vendors with fairness.  We work to continuously improve our processes, contain costs, and increase our value, while remaining compliant with policies.

As a Jesuit institution, Loyola encourages the campus community to seek actionable ways to live out the call to build a more just, humane, and sustainable world.  Loyola maintains a deep commitment to human dignity in the workplace.  Purchasing strives to engage with partners that share that commitment to social justice.

Purchasing is focused on the following goals:   Optimizing turn-around-time for order placement and increasing order accuracy;  Increasing/leveraging Loyola’s spend with our preferred/Pre-Qualified suppliers;  Maximizing cost containment; Reducing supply risk; Increasing training/education for requesters; promoting requester use of automated ordering to improve speed & accuracy. Reducing audit exposure risk.  Increasing spend with diverse/sustainable suppliers.

Purchasing accomplishes its goals through exceptional customer service, development/use of innovative processes, training and educational opportunities, and the development and implementation of sound business practices and auditable procedures.
