The following policies provide information on how collections are acquired, arranged, and described at the Loyola University Chicago Archives & Special Collections.

Acquisition Policy

Information on what materials LUCASC does and does not acquire. It also includes information on how LUCASC acquires collections.

Collecting Policy

LUCASC's collecting policy outlines the established collecting areas for the department.

University records are transferred to the University Archives according to Loyola's Non-Financial Record Retention Schedule. A short list of records to transfer is available at Records to transfer.

Individuals interested in donating their papers to the Loyola Special Collections should consult Donating Your Papers for information as well as the collecting and acquisition policies.

Arrangment & Description Policy

Information on how LUCASC processes (i.e. arranges and describes) collections for use by researchers. 

University Records Confidentiality Policy

Some restrictions apply to University records. This policy informs researchers about these restrictions and the types of University records not collected by LUCASC. 

Harmful Language Policy

This policy states how LUCASC deals with any harmful and disrespectful language found in the collections.
