University Publications

Two Loyola News staffers with first issue of the year

Publications produced by the offices, departments, and students of Loyola are routinely acquired by the University Archives. These include catalogs, newsletters, brochures, bulletins, yearbooks, directories, press releases, handbooks, commencement programs, and the student newspapers. In addition, the University Archives holds the official copy of record of theses and dissertations written at Loyola University Chicago.

There are gaps in the university publications collection. The University Archives is always looking to fill these gaps and welcomes gifts of university publications. Please contact us via Ask the Archivist if you have university publications that you would like to give to the Loyola University Archives.

The list below is a selected list of university publications. Links will take you to publications that have been digitized. Digitization of the university publication collection is an on-going project.

Yearbooks

Yearbooks have a long and varied history at Loyola University Chicago. Most Schools and Colleges were included in the Loyolan at one time or another, although the Stritch School of Medicine, Rome Center, the Chicago College of Dental Surgery, and the College of Commerce often had their own yearbook. The Loyolan ran from 1924 to 1985 when publication ended. One more volume was published in 2005, but it has not been published since. The links below go to digital yearbook collections.
