Oral History Collections
The Loyola University Chicago Archives and Special Collections has a long history of conducting oral history projects and collecting the projects of other oral historians. Two of the collections focus on the history of Loyola University Chicago through the voices of the people who know it best - staff, faculty, alumni, and administrators. Other projects highlight immigrants, public school teachers, and Cook County judges.
Oral histories are in the process of being digitized and transcribed.
Loyola University Chicago Oral History Project, 2006-2023
Initiated in 2006, this project documents the history of Loyola University Chicago through oral history interviews with administrators, staff, faculty, and alumni. The project was put on hiatus during the COVID pandemic and reitred in 2023 due to budget cuts.

Loyola Staff and Faculty Oral History Project
Formerly called the Veteran Staff and Faculty Oral History Project, this was the first incarnation of the Loyola University Chicago Oral History Projectlty Oral History Project. Interviews for this project were conducted by Loyola students taking the Oral History course in the History department. Audio cassette recordings are available for interviews, however they are not digitized and not all have been transcribed.

Circuit Court of Cook County Retired Judges Oral History Collection, 1996-2007
Oral histories of retired Cook County judges conducted by students in the Oral History class in Loyola's History department. The collection ranges from 1996 to 2007 (primarily 2002–2007). Currently available only on audio cassette tapes. Not all interviews have been transcribed. Some restrictions apply.
This collection has been made available online by the Illinois Supreme Court Historic Preservation Commission.
